BARCA
Barca, the Portuguese word for a small wood boat, is handmade, useful, and smooth in proportions, and was conceived as part of an idyllic scenario of a country side living, as if it has always been there.
Not a truly outdoor chair, Barca was design as an easy and relaxed “seating interface” between the garden and the living room.

Barca structure reflects the unique knowledge of Portuguese wood joinery making each detail of the chair a “finding” to be touched and observed.
The selection of the finest raw wood parts, the clever wood joints and a traditional weaving parts for the seat results in a light and smooth curved chair shape with a highly resistant structure.
BARCAS’S STRUCTURE
Made out of FSC™ Certified wood the carving joints preparation is supported by a previous digital cnc drilling process,followed by a fine and patient hand assembly.
Each Barca is made of 10 small wood “sculptures” that were developed in a 3D printed process along a long and technical talk with Mr. Carlos, one of the most experienced wood carver in Portugal.
